Performance Best Practices for VMware vSphere 4.0

August 19, 2009

Last June 30th, on its corporate website (section Resources), Vmware released an interesting 54-pages ebook about vSphere 4.0. This book, titled “Performance Best Practices for VMware vSphere 4.0“, gives the main guidelines for performance optimization of the latest virtualization solution made in Palo Alto.
As we can read here, “This book provides tips that help administrators maximize the performance of VMware vSphere 4.0. Sections cover hardware selection, ESX and virtual machines, guest operating systems, and virtual infrastructure management.
If you are planning an update from the previous ESX versions or you are about to adopt this solution virtualization solution in your company, I suggest downloading this ebook, because it collects many useful information. I remember that these hints, as it appears on the cover, are also valid for ESXi 4.0, the free hypervisor by Vmware.
